Bramare fire

Thursday, September 29, 2022

We are truly saddened to advise that on Wednesday 21 September, there was a fire at the Otis Retreat, Bramare.

Our Otis guests staying at the time were all unharmed and relocated to a Bendigo Hotel, we are so proud of their quick thinking and courage.

I commend the quick response from all emergency services and the invaluable assistance given by local neighbours. I would also like to acknowledge our Otis property manager Nola and her husband Bruce who were immediately on site to support our guests.

Bramare has a very special place in our hearts because it was at a kitchen table here that The Otis Foundation started 22 years ago.

There are personal memories and losses, but there are also the happy memories for every guest and their loved ones who have benefited from the beautiful home and retreat setting.

Our property donors have been amazing and the Bendigo community's response has been incredible.

Thank you for your wonderful support.

- Claire Culley, Otis CEO
