OTIS wants “blokes” to have a night out for a good cause

Friday, August 12, 2016

Calling all blokes, gents, fellas and boys. The OTIS Foundation invites you to fun casual have a night out – and help raise funds for a good cause.

The OTIS Blokes Before the Bounce event, held with the support of The Hindsight Club, aims to encourage local men to support one of Bendigo’s charity success stories – The OTIS Foundation.

OTIS Foundation General Manager, Rachel Mason encouraged local men to get behind the event to enable the foundation to continue providing its unique gift “The OTIS Foundation now operates across five states, making close to 4,000 nights available at no cost at its 36 retreats to women living with breast cancer and their loved ones.

“While breast cancer is clearly regarded as a disease mostly affecting women, it is the support we are able to provide to the whole family that really makes a difference. Often it’s the partners and the kids that get the most out of staying at an OTIS retreat and taking some time away from the highly emotional challenges of living with breast cancer.” Mrs Mason said.

Local identity, Brendan Baker, will host the event and said it was sure to be a great night, “We have legendary AFL player and coach, Terry Wallace, sharing some perils of wisdom on the night and Corey from #Hashtag has been good enough to provide a great venue for this event. There will be some great auctions items and prizes on offer and what’s more, people can stick around after the event and watch the AFL Grand Final Footy Show on #Hashtag’s big screens. So grab your mates and book some tickets to support this amazing local charity.” Mr Baker added.

The OTIS Blokes Before the Bounce event will take place from 5pm on Thursday, 29 September – the eve of the AFL Grand Final parade public holiday upstairs at #Hashtag Public Bar. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased from The OTIS Foundation office in Fountain Court, over the phone on (03) 5444 1185 or online at otisblokes.gofundraise.com.au.
